Today, social networks are one of the best ways to market your home based business. There are a lot to choose from. Myspace was one of the first and now there are tons out there and new ones forming each day. So, which ones do you spend your time on and which ones just end up wasting your time?
The best way to figure out which ones work best for you is to join and be active. Find out if it's the right community for you.
There are certain ways to use social networks to get the most out of them. If you follow some of these guidelines, you will have a lot of success with them.
1. invite people you know to join them
2. make friends with others while on them, be open to accepting invitation for friends, search for new friends, and build up your list
3. make friends with people first before you start presenting your offer (remember that people are more likely to look at your offer if they know you first).
4. if someone approaches you to look at their business - GREAT! That gives you a chance to reciprocate and ask them to look at your business as well.
5. don't feel that you have to respond to every post you get or that you have to respond right away, if you are overwhelmed, slow down.
6. become an expert of the system so that you also become a resource to others

I have been an upgraded member on myNetworkingPro (formerly DirectMatches) for over 5 years. I truly love this site. You can join for free and if you want, you can upgrade. When you invite others to join and they upgrade, you get paid. So, not only is this a great social network for making new contacts and business partners (which I have done quite a few times), but you can also do this as a business.
Better Networker
This is another site designed specifically for Network Marketers and has a ton of the big name trainers on here to connect with. You can post a profile, write articles and blogs, join forums. This is one site not to miss.
The Warrior Forum
If you are involved in any sort of online marketing, network marketing, MLM, affiliate marketing or direct sales, then this forum is a MUST. It is extremely active and filled with amazing content. You can even pay a one time upgrade fee to enter the private training areas where you will find content unmatched to any out there.
WAHM
You do not have to be a work at home mom to get the benefits out of this site. In fact, there are many male members in this community. The forum section is one of the best places to visit. It lists tons of current MLM companies that have their own sections for posting and there are also general categories for Internet Marketing, Affiliate Marketing and more.
12SC Social Community
This site is mostly for the members of 12sc, but is also filled with wonderful knowledge on how to build lists, as well as a place to post blogs, join forums, and post classified listings. If you like the site, then you will love the tools they offer and can even try them out for 30 days free at my 12sc site.

ReplyDeleteI will have to take a closer look at 6dgr and viral networks. I am already with PeopleString and will be adding that to another blog of mine. I am not sure how people string fits in with social networking though.
